What is Trading Paints?
Trading Paints is a free service that allows you to customize your car's appearance in iRacing with custom paint schemes (liveries) created by the community or yourself.
With Trading Paints, you can stand out on the track with unique designs, team colors, or sponsor logos.
How to Install Trading Paints
1Download the App
Visit the Trading Paints website and download the Trading Paints app.
2Install and Run
- Run the installer you downloaded
- Follow the installation prompts
- Launch the Trading Paints app
- Create an account or log in
3Connect with iRacing
The app will automatically detect your iRacing installation. Make sure to:
- Keep Trading Paints running while racing
- Launch Trading Paints before iRacing
Using Trading Paints
Finding Liveries
Browse and select from thousands of community-created designs
- Browse the Showroom: Visit the Trading Paints website and browse the showroom for liveries for your cars.
- Filter by Car: Use the filters to find designs for specific cars in your iRacing garage.
- Add to My Paints: When you find a design you like, click "Add to My Paints" to use it in-game.
- Race: Launch iRacing and your selected paint schemes will automatically appear in-game.
Creating Your Own Liveries
Design custom paint schemes for your cars
To create your own custom liveries:
- Download Templates: Get car templates from the Trading Paints website or iRacing forums.
- Edit in Graphics Software: Use Photoshop, GIMP, or other graphics software to design your livery.
- Upload Your Design: Use the Trading Paints app or website to upload your custom design.
- Apply and Race: Your custom design will be available to use in your next race.

Liveries Not Showing
- Make sure Trading Paints is running before launching iRacing
- Check your internet connection
